Materials and making
Every piece is 3D-printed to measure in the workshop in El Médano and finished by hand. The chip sits inside the piece, not taped to its back.

Stone and volcanic-stone finish
Mineral-filled filament: the piece looks and feels like stone, right down to the porous texture of volcanic rock. For example, a stone on the table with your logo and the chip hidden inside.

Metal look, with real rust
Filament with iron powder: the piece looks like metal and, if you like, is genuinely rusted for a weathered look. Then it is sealed, so nothing rubs off.

Wood finish
Wood-fibre filament: the colour, grain and feel of wood, printed to measure in whatever shape you need.

Plaques for a recess in a table, bowl or counter
Printed to fit a recess in something you already own, such as a wooden bowl or the table top. The recess is already there or your carpenter cuts it; we supply the plaque with the chip.
Logo raised or recessed, printed into the piece and hand-painted; colours always bespoke. Prices are net: under the Canarian REPEP scheme we charge neither IGIC nor EU VAT.

Handover or shipping
On Tenerife we bring it to you in person, with the chips programmed and tested. Anywhere else, we ship it from El Médano with the chips already programmed.

The technology, honestly
Worth knowing before you order, not after.
Printed plastic lets the signal through
Stone or wood finish included: the chip sits invisibly inside the piece and the phone still reads it.
Solid metal blocks the signal
That's physics, not a manufacturing fault. For metal there are on-metal chips with a ferrite backing, or we place the chip elsewhere in the piece. Iron-filled filament can weaken the signal too, so the sample decides how deep the chip sits.
Every material is tested first
If a material is new to us, we test it with the chip before accepting the order. We would rather say no than deliver something that fails at the table.
Frequently asked questions
Does the guest need an app?
No. The NFC reader is built into the phone's operating system. They hold the phone close, the link appears, and nothing is installed.
Does it work with iPhone and Android?
Yes. iPhone XR and newer read the chip when the top edge of the screen touches it. iPhone 7 to X need the NFC reader switched on from the control centre first. Android phones with NFC — the large majority — read it directly.
Can I change the link later?
Yes. The chips are rewritable, so the destination can change as often as you like without touching the piece. We show you how to do it from your own phone, or we do it for you.
What is the minimum quantity?
None. In hospitality we also make single pieces: one object for the reception desk is as much a commission as four hundred for the tables. Quantity does not decide whether we make it, it decides the price per piece — the more there are, the lower it gets, because design and setup are shared across the run. And before any run there is always the single sample, so you can decide with the piece in your hand.
What does it cost?
Most hospitality projects land between €400 and €2,500. Where yours falls depends on quantity, material, and whether we start from scratch or build the chip into a piece you already own. There is no list price because there is no list piece: we cost your project and you get a fixed quote before anything is made.
How long does production take?
A full run usually takes four to six weeks from your first message to dispatch: design round, sample, production and hand-finishing. A single sample leaves the workshop within five to seven working days.
Do you ship outside Tenerife?
Yes, worldwide, with Correos from El Médano. Within the EU it usually takes 5–7 working days once shipped; outside the EU it depends on the country. On Tenerife we also hand it over in person, with the chips programmed and tested.
Will there be customs or import VAT?
The Canary Islands belong to the EU customs union but not to the EU VAT area, so a delivery to the EU mainland counts as an import. The carrier collects import VAT (19 % in Germany, 21 % in mainland Spain) plus a small handling fee from you on delivery — not here, and not from us. With a valid VAT-ID you reclaim that import VAT as input tax. Within the Canary Islands none of this applies. Outside the EU, the destination country's import rules apply; we point them out in the quote.
Can the object look like stone or metal?
Yes, both are printed: mineral-filled filament looks like stone, right down to volcanic rock, and iron-filled filament looks like metal, genuinely rusted and sealed if you like. Iron can weaken the signal, so we test every material with the chip before accepting the commission. For real solid metal there are on-metal chips with a ferrite backing.
