Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about custom 3D merch, NFC technology, and artist packages.

General

Who actually makes this?

Ben Flagmeyer — musician and maker, workshop in El Médano on Tenerife. No factory, no middleman: every piece is printed, painted and hand-finished here, and Ben answers his own mail — usually within 48 hours.

What is the minimum order?

10 pieces per format. Below that, order a single sample piece — keychain, magnet or relief, shipped on its own so you can judge print, paint and the NFC tap before committing to a drop.

What does it cost?

It depends on the quantity — the price per piece falls in steps. NFC keychains start at €8.00 each for 10 pieces and reach €5.00 from 500. The calculator shows your exact price, the total and a recommended sale price for your audience (roughly 1.8× your cost) while you change the numbers.

All prices are net: as a small business under the Canarian REPEP scheme, FanuFacture charges neither IGIC nor EU VAT. Import VAT on delivery to the mainland is a separate matter — see Shipping & Returns below.

Which files do you need from me?

PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF, SVG or PDF, up to 15 MB. Vector files (SVG, PDF) are ideal because they scale to any size cleanly, but send whatever you have — Ben tells you in the first reply whether the artwork works as it is or needs redrawing.

How long does it take?

A full drop takes about 4–6 weeks from briefing to your door: design round, a slicer preview you approve before anything is printed, then production and hand-finishing. A single sample ships within 5–7 business days.

Can I order as a private person, without a company?

Yes. Nothing here requires a company or a VAT-ID — not the briefing, not the checkout, and free shipping from 500 € applies either way. Most orders come from bands and creators ordering for themselves. A VAT-ID is only worth entering if you have one, because it lets you reclaim the import VAT as input tax.

NFC Merch

What does the NFC chip actually do?

Every NFC piece carries a programmable chip. Someone holds a phone against it and a link opens — your Spotify profile, a new single, Instagram, Twitch, a tour page, a private thank-you video. Any URL you choose. No app on their side, and nothing to install.

Does it work with every phone?

With almost all of them. iPhone XR and newer read the chip simply by holding the top edge against it. Older iPhones (7 to X) need the NFC reader from the control centre first. Android phones with NFC — the large majority — read it directly, usually with NFC already switched on.

Who decides the link, and can it be changed later?

You do — tell Ben in the briefing which address the pieces should open, and they arrive programmed and tested. If you want to be able to redirect them later (a tour page that changes, a link that should survive an album cycle), say so before production: whether a chip stays rewritable is decided when it is programmed, not afterwards.

Does it need a battery, an app or a subscription?

None of the three. The chip is passive — it draws the tiny amount of power it needs from the phone that reads it, so there is nothing to charge and nothing to expire. The link is stored on the chip itself, so there is no account behind it that could be switched off.

Artist Merch

What is in a package?

Four sizes, each a mix of keychains, magnets and reliefs, with the volume discount already applied: Spark 25 + 15 + 10 pieces, Pulse 100 + 50 + 25, Wave 250 + 150 + 50, Storm 500 + 250 + 100. The discount grows with the size, from 5 % to 15 %. On the packages page you can open each one and change the mix — the price follows.

What do I earn on it?

You set your own price — the calculator only suggests one, at roughly 1.8× what you pay, which is where most artists land at the merch table. What you charge above or below that is your call, and nothing here takes a cut of it.

Can I see one before I order a whole drop?

That is what the samples are for: NFC keychain €13, 3D magnet €11.50, relief €21 — shipping included, one piece each, no minimum. Same craft as a full run, so what you hold is what your audience gets.

Who owns the artwork?

You do. Your logo and your artwork stay yours; the briefing asks you to confirm you hold the rights to what you upload, because Ben cannot check that for you. Nothing made for you is resold, and no piece appears in the gallery without asking you first.

Shipping & Returns

What does shipping cost, and when is it free?

Shipping is free from 500 € — everywhere, no VAT-ID and no company needed. Below that it is calculated by weight and destination from the Correos rates and shown separately before you pay, never added afterwards.

Where do you ship from, and how long does it take?

Everything ships from the workshop in El Médano, Tenerife, with Correos. Within the EU that is usually 5–7 business days once the parcel is on its way; outside the EU it varies by country. Pick-up in El Médano is possible by arrangement.

Will I have to pay import VAT or customs?

The Canary Islands belong to the EU customs union but not to the EU VAT area, so a delivery to the EU mainland counts as an import. The carrier collects import VAT (19 % in Germany, 21 % in mainland Spain) plus a small handling fee from you on delivery — not here, and not from us. With a valid VAT-ID you reclaim that import VAT as input tax. Within the Canary Islands none of this applies.

Prices and taxes in the terms

Can I return it?

Sample pieces: yes. They are not made to your specification, so the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies — no reason needed.

Merch made to your logo or artwork is excluded from that right by law once production has begun, because it cannot be sold to anyone else. That is why you approve a slicer preview before anything is printed. If something arrives damaged or faulty, that is a different matter entirely and is put right — write to Ben.

Full withdrawal policy

How can I pay?

Card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay and Google Pay, all through Stripe — no card details ever reach FanuFacture. For a full drop, payment is agreed in the briefing before production starts.
